Hello, and welcome!
I’m so glad you’re here. Let me start with the truth: I’m an amateur human, navigating life by listening to my strong instincts, the values I grew up with, the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and through plenty of trial and error.
That’s how I approach everything—including writing.
I never set out to be an author in the traditional sense. But stories found me, or perhaps I found them, tucked between everyday moments and quiet observations. I write for children because their world is still full of wonder, curiosity, and the belief that anything is possible. That’s the magic I want to capture on every page.
Currently, I’m bringing to life a picture book called Scritch-Scratch, What’s That Batch?—a tale of tiny creatures, big mysteries, and the joy of discovery. It’s illustrated with over 30 hand-painted illustrations, each one crafted with care and brought to life in vivid colour. This book is a labour of love, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
I live in Switzerland, where cold winters and warm hearts inspire much of what I create. Art fuels my soul—whether I’m visiting museums, writing stories, or simply watching the world unfold around me. Creativity, to me, isn’t about perfection. It’s about courage, curiosity, and the willingness to try.
This blog will be a space where I share my creative journey—the behind-the-scenes of my books, reflections on art and life, and the messy, beautiful process of making something from nothing.
Thank you for being here. I hope you’ll stay a while, explore, and maybe even find a bit of inspiration for your own creative path.
With warm regards,
Floor de Jonge
